Our Vacuum Tumbler Mission

Our mission is to help restaurants, grocery stores, food processors, and health food stores to improve their food supply with all cuts of meat, poultry, and fish. For every cut of meat, including less expensive ones, our chefs vacuum meat and marinade tumbler will help to achieve increased juiciness, fresher taste, and better texture. It will cook more evenly and usually faster because of the increased juiciness. Marinade flavor, if desired, is infused to permeate throughout the tissue. Lyco Marinator Story

Ned Thornton

Lyco Sales Ltd. has been working in the commercial food industry for 34 years. Our story began in 1979 when Ned Thornton worked with a company which manufactured smokehouses for commercial meat and fish processors. They wanted to add a vacuum tumbler to their product line for smaller processors.

In 1984 Ned Thornton changed partners and Lyco Sales was incorporated. The company continued the vacuum food tumbler development, specializing in smaller models which have had an influence on the food industry. Lyco Sales’ 40 lb. capacity vacuum tumblers are used by university meat science professors, and in test kitchens of seasoning companies such as Everson Spice and large processors including Tyson and Pilgrim’s Pride. The vacuum food tumblers have also been used in grocery stores such as Winn Dixie and Supervalu, and restaurants including J. Alexander’s, Stoney River Legendary Steaks and Copeland’s.  All companies have found their meat, poultry, and fish to have improved taste, juiciness, and texture.

Our goal is for you to have a reliable, improved meat product that you will be able to serve or sell to your customers who will be consistently satisfied and pleased. Our passion is to see how our chefs vacuum meat and marinade tumbler results in a better quality of meat, and the consumer is able to enjoy better food at home, or in a restaurant.
